Rangers were knocked off the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership by a defeat to Aberdeen in midweek.

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack is confident the squad will show the right reaction to criticism of their midweek performance.

Manager Steven Gerrard admitted he never once felt good about anything his team did during their 1-0 Ibrox defeat by Aberdeen.

And Jack sat beside Gary McAllister in Rangers' pre-match media conference as the assistant manager claimed it was "hard to find a player who got pass marks".

Rangers were knocked off the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership after only three days and Jack is determined to bounce back and respond to the criticism when they face bottom club Dundee on Tayside on Sunday.

"It's motivation," the former Aberdeen player said. "Every time you have a blip and a bad result, you always say the same things and we need to show a reaction.

"I'm sure as a squad with the mentality we have got and the leaders in the changing room, there is no doubt that come Sunday we are going to be up for the game.

"Of course Wednesday still hurts but as soon as the whistle goes Sunday, all focus is on getting a good result against Dundee.

"Straight after the game we discussed it as a squad. We said we weren't good enough, but it's about Sunday now. We have to show a reaction.

"It's a massive three points and if we win it will keep us in the mix for the rest of the games in December."

Rangers will face a rejuvenated Dundee who have gone three games unbeaten and secured their first win under Jim McIntyre on Wednesday when they beat Hamilton 4-0.

Former Gers striker Kenny Miller has been at the forefront of the revival with his midweek hat-trick taking his recent tally to five goals in three matches.

Jack said: "I know Kenny very well obviously, I trained with him for a year and played alongside him and he's still got great qualities.

"He is definitely one we need to watch out for and Kenny will definitely be up for the game.

"I'm sure off the back of our result on Wednesday, Dundee will be looking at this as an opportunity."
