Rangers midfielder Niko Kranjcar admits that his side must put their title aspirations to one side for now as they aim to improve on their start to the new season.

Rangers midfielder Niko Kranjcar has suggested that his side need to keep their title thoughts at bay for now after an indifferent start to the Scottish Premiership season.

The Glasgow club managed to prevent their worst start to a league campaign since 1989 after they recently beat Partick Thistle, leaving Kranjcar to admit that his teammates must focus on the task at hand instead of thinking too far ahead.

"I think at the moment we shouldn't think about it. I think we should think about winning the next game," said Kranjcar, according to Sky Sports News.

"It is not in our hands in respect of the points we've dropped already. I think we learned that the most important game is the next one coming up.

"We can talk come Christmas where we are in the title race. The one thing that is important for us is to concentrate on ourselves and rising our level of football and hopefully winning the next game that comes our way."

Rangers currently hold fifth spot in the league standings with 12 points from eight games.
