Defender Clint Hill admits that he cannot wait to get started with Rangers after signing a one-year deal at Ibrox.

Defender Clint Hill has said that he is motivated to succeed at Rangers after signing a one-year contract in Glasgow.

After six years at Queens Park Rangers, Hill was released by the Championship outfit at the end of last season, but his availability alerted head coach Mark Warburton who moved to add more experience to his squad.

Hill has revealed that he had offers to end his career abroad but the pull of the Scottish giants was something that he could not turn down.

The 37-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I've passed my medical, so hopefully they are happy with me. My body has held up so far over a 20-year career.

"I've always kept myself fit so I'm ready for the challenge. I'm not here for a jolly up or retirement. I'm here to work.

"I had options abroad and could have taken the easy way out and gone to a league with less pressure, but when Rangers come knocking, you can't turn that down."

Hill's former Queens Park Rangers teammate Joey Barton has also moved to Rangers ahead of their return to the Scottish Premiership.
