Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery says that his team's strong home form will stand them in good stead as they look to make the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery has said that his team's impressive home form will stand them in good stead as they look to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

PSG lost 3-1 at Real Madrid in the first leg of their last-16 tie last week, and therefore have work to do in the reverse fixture in Paris, which will take place on March 6.

The French giants, however, have won all 17 of their home games in all competitions this season, which Emery feels will be important ahead of the second leg with the reigning European champions.

"It was a victory which was important particularly in light of Wednesday's defeat," EFE quotes Emery as saying following PSG's 5-2 win over Strasbourg in the league at the weekend.

"We have won all of our matches at home and we have two more big tests here coming up against both Marseille and Real Madrid, but we are confident and our supporters have confidence.

"We want to demonstrate that not only can we perform at this level against Strasbourg – with all due respect – but also against the top level of European sides. We aim to remain very tough to play against at home and we want the Parc des Princes to remain a fortress."

PSG have not lost a competitive match on home soil since March 2016.
