Portugal manager Fernando Santos describes himself as "very happy" having seen his side progress into the final of Euro 2016.

Portugal manager Fernando Santos has expressed his delight at steering his side into the final of Euro 2016.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani scored within three minutes of each other at the start of the second half as Portugal picked up their first win inside 90 minutes at this year's tournament by beating Wales 2-0 in the semi-final this evening.

A final against either world champions Germany or host nation France awaits in Paris on Sunday, but Santos insists that he does not care which team his side face, so long as they win.

"I feel very happy. Happy for the players, for every single Portuguese," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"My first game at the helm of the team was two years ago, and our goal was to reach here. Thankfully everything worked out for us. We are stronger, more solid, more united.

"The first final I had in my career somebody said to me: 'Finals are not about playing, they're about winning.'"

Portugal have reached their first ever major final on foreign soil.
