Porto sack manager Julen Lopetegui after a winless streak of three games.

Porto have announced the departure of manager Julen Lopetegui.

The 49-year-old, who was under contract until summer 2017, leaves after a three-game winless streak for the Primeira Liga club.

Porto said on their website that they were negotiating the terms of Lopetegui's termination and that Rui Barros had been placed in temporary charge of the first team.

Lopetegui failed to win a trophy in almost two years with Porto, who have been Portuguese champions in seven of the last 10 seasons.

He leaves with the club second in the Primeira Liga, four points behind Sporting Lisbon, and out of the Champions League having finished third in Group G behind Chelsea and Dynamo Kiev.
