Osasuna appoint experienced manager Joaquin Caparros as their new head coach following the dismissal of Enrique Martin.

Osasuna have appointed Joaquin Caparros as their new manager following the dismissal of Enrique Martin, who left the club just 11 games into the 2016-17 campaign.

The newly-promoted club have only won once in the league this term, and a total of seven points has left them in 19th position in the table entering the international break.

Following Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Alaves, the powers that be relieved Martin of his duties, but it has not taken long for the club to announce a replacement, with Caparros taking control of first-team affairs.

The 61-year-old started his managerial career in 1981 and has coached Villarreal, Sevilla, Deportivo La Coruna, Athletic Bilbao, Mallorca, Levante and Granada in the top flight of Spanish football.

The former Real Madrid youth player left his last role with Granada in January 2015.
