Premier League new boys Norwich City have fallen to a 1-0 defeat in their pre-season friendly against Maccabi Haifa in Austria this evening.
Dekel Keinan guided a header narrowly wide of the near post, as the Israeli side made a bright start to the match.
Moments later Bradley Johnson had Norwich's first attempt on goal, but he fired his strike well wide of the target.
With six minutes left to play in the first half Maccabi broke the deadlock, as Alon Turgeman was found by Itay Shechter, before firing a strike past Declan Rudd.
Tony Andreu almost grabbed an equaliser for the Canaries shortly after the break when his effort beat the keeper, but was cleared off the line.
Alex Neil's side continued to press for a goal and Ricky van Wolfswinkel headed wide in the closing stages, but they were unable to find the target as they lost for the first time in pre-season.
