Preview: Norwich City vs. Millwall - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Championship fixture between Norwich City and Millwall, including team news and predicted lineups.

Norwich City head into their Championship encounter with Millwall on Tuesday evening looking to extend their unbeaten record to six matches.

Meanwhile, Millwall make the trip to Carrow Road on the back of a surprise defeat to Huddersfield Town, a result which leaves the Lions outside of the top six.

In the early weeks of the season, there were a few signs that Norwich may struggle to compete in their first campaign back in the second tier.

However, the Canaries have put together a division-best return over the past five matches, recording 13 points from a possible 15.

Daniel Farke's side have been far from their best during that run, but their clinical opening 45 minutes against Bristol City at the weekend hinted that a corner has been turned.

Having gone over a month without finding the back of the net, Teemu Pukki now has three goals from as many matches, a much-needed improvement with Jordan Hugill not making a consistent impact in his place.

With Swansea City to come on Saturday, Farke and his players will be eager to maintain their current momentum, aware that two more positive results could leave them in the top two by the end of the week.

Millwall will also feel that they are in a strong position to make quick headway up the standings, but it remains to be seen how Gary Rowett's men will react to defeat against Huddersfield.

The East London outfit had been expected to extend their unbeaten streak to five matches having conceded just two goals from their previous four outings.

However, they were humbled by their low-scoring opponents, and Rowett must establish whether complacency became a factor after breaking into the top six.

If that was the case, a trip to Norwich will act as the perfect fixture for the Lions, who have performed better on the road since the beginning of the campaign.

Team News

Rowett will almost certainly make at least one change to his Millwall attack for the trip to Carrow Road.

Mason Bennett, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Matt Smith will all feel that they deserve opportunities in the final third.

Farke must decide whether to recall the likes of Mario Vrancic and Todd Cantwell, who were both rested at Ashton Gate.

Xavi Quintilla could replace Jacob Sorensen at left-back if he recovers from a hip injury.

Norwich City possible starting lineup:
Krul; Aaron, Hanley, Gibson, Sorensen; Skipp, Rupp; Buendia, Vrancic, Cantwell; Pukki

Millwall possible starting lineup:
Bialkowski; Hutchinson, Cooper, M.Wallace; Romeo, Leonard, Woods, Malone; Bennett, J.Wallace; Bodvarsson

We say: Norwich City 2-1 Millwall

Given the manner of their defeat to Huddersfield, expect Millwall to put in a much improved performance in East Anglia. However, Norwich are building some momentum, and we feel that the Canaries will have enough quality at both ends of the pitch to secure maximum points.
