Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says that he has no worries about how his players will cope with Poland striker Robert Lewandowski in their Euro 2016 opener.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has claimed that his side are more than prepared to withstand Poland's strikeforce in their Euro 2016 opener on Sunday.

The UK nation is taking part in its first European Championship finals, but their first game will see them face Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski, who scored 48 goals for club and country in 2015-16.

O'Neill is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I have never prepared a team as well as this. It is exciting to be here after four weeks of preparation.

"Lewandowski is, in my opinion, one of the top two centre-forwards in the world. But there are other threats. We have done a lot of work on Poland and it has been time well spent."

Northern Ireland have gone 12 games without losing, their last defeat coming in a friendly against Scotland in March 2015.
