A report claims that West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford will join Newcastle United on loan for the 2016-17 season.

West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford will reportedly join Championship side Newcastle United on a season-long loan in this summer's transfer window.

The 17-year-old, who made his Premier League debut on the opening weekend of the 2015-16 campaign, has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United over the last few weeks.

It was claimed that Oxford had turned down a new long-term deal at the Hammers, but it is understood that the Englishman is now prepared to pen an extension with the capital club.

According to The Sun, once terms are agreed on a new contract, Oxford will join Newcastle on loan as the Magpies look to boost their squad for the 2016-17 Championship season.

Oxford joined West Ham's youth system in 2011 and has 12 first-team appearances to his name.
