Serbia boss Mladen Krstajic tips Aleksandar Mitrovic to join a "bigger" club when his loan spell at Fulham from Newcastle United comes to an end.

Serbia boss Mladen Krstajic has predicted that Newcastle United forward Aleksandar Mitrovic will join a "bigger" club once his loan spell at Fulham comes to an end.

The 23-year-old moved to Craven Cottage in January after falling down the pecking order at St James' Park under manager Rafael Benitez.

After netting twice in Serbia's win over Nigeria on Tuesday night, Mitrovic took his tally up to nine in eight matches in all competitions.

"Mitrovic was very lucky to be coached by [Fulham manager Slavisa] Jokanovic, a coach from Serbia who knows him very well," the London Evening Standard quotes Krstajic as saying.

"Mitrovic did a very good thing in choosing to come to Fulham. I'm sure that after the loan he will move to an even bigger, better club where he can do much better.

"Personally it's a great pleasure to have a player such as Mitrovic in our squad. He's a killer up front, which he proved [against Nigeria]."

Mitrovic has been on Newcastle's books since his 2015 move from Anderlecht.
