Napoli will reportedly offer Pepe Reina a new contract that includes a £4m release clause for clubs outside of Italy.

Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has reportedly been offered a new contract that includes a £4m release clause for non-Italian based clubs.

The Spain international has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, who will be competing in the Premier League this season after winning promotion from the Championship.

Reina is very familiar with the Magpies' manager Rafael Benitez after the pair spent nine years together at Liverpool.

According to Radio Crc, Napoli are desperate to tie the 34-year-old down to a new deal, but clubs from outside of Italy will be able to sign him for £4m if the new contract is agreed.

Reina is believed to be willing to put pen to paper, but he wants the release clause to be lowered to £1.5m.
