Result: Montpellier HSC edge past 10-man Guingamp in Ligue 1 clash

Montpellier come from behind to record a 2-1 victory over 10-man Guingamp thanks to second-half goals from Souleymane Camara and Casimir Ninga.

Second-half strikes from Souleymane Camara and Casimir Ninga have guided Montpellier HSC to a 2-1 comeback win over 10-man Guingamp in their Ligue 1 clash this evening.

The home side began the match on the front foot as Jonas Martin was teed up inside the box, but he put his effort wide of the post.

Minutes later, Martin latched on to a cross from Ryad Boudebouz and this time he was able to find the target, although his header was well saved by Jonas Lossl.

Guingamp took the lead in the 32nd minute when Sloan Privat rose highest in the area to power his header past Laurent Pionnier after meeting Yannis Salibur's cross from the right.

However, the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Nicolas Benezet received his second yellow card for a foul on Bryan Dabo before half time.

In the second half, Montpellier capitalised on their numerical advantage to equalise as Boudebouz raided down the flank and lifted a cross into the box for Camara to head into the net.

The home side took the lead in the 63rd minute through Ninga as Camara turned provider by firing a low ball across the face of goal for the midfielder to convert from close range.

Guingamp tried to rally late in the game and came close to finding a leveller through Yannis Salibur, but he put his strike past the post.

The visitors pressed forward in stoppage time, but Marcus Coco was unable to hit the target with his effort from inside the area, which resulted in his team falling to a narrow defeat.

Montpellier rise to 13th in the table, while Guingamp drop to 18th.
