Result: Millwall stage unlikely comeback

Ten-man Millwall come from two goals down to stage a remarkable comeback in their Championship meeting with Blackburn Rovers.

Ten-man Millwall have come from two goals down to stage a remarkable comeback in their Championship match with Blackburn Rovers this evening.

The away side had the better of the game's opening exchanges, and saw plenty of the ball early on.

Tom Cairney found himself in space on the edge of the Millwall box and played in Alex Baptiste, but the defender's shot went into the side-netting.

Trickery from Ben Marshall down the left then eventually led to the ball being played in to Jordan Rhodes, who headed inches wide in what was a let-off for the hosts.

The half did not go all Blackburn's way, however, and Shaun Williams forced Jason Steele into a save with a powerful drive from 35 yards.

Despite the chance it was Blackburn who looked the more threatening, and Duffy put them in front when he followed in Marshall's free kick.

After the break, a sensational block from Ryan Tunnicliffe denied Millwall an equaliser when he got in the way of Ricardo Fuller's effort.

Ian Holloway's men faced an uphill battle to get back into the game and their task looked even more difficult when Andy Wilkinson was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Marshall.

Minutes later, Rudy Gestede scored Blackburn's second goal when he rose highest to head in Cairney's free kick.

It would have been easy for Millwall to capitulate given the circumstances, but Lee Martin clawed a goal back to give his side hope heading into the final stages of the match.

With minutes left in the contest, Williams secured an unlikely 2-2 draw for Millwall when he drove into the bottom corner.
