Millwall's home match against Port Vale in early 2016 will now be played on January 17 due to their ongoing Football League Trophy commitments.

The League One meeting between Millwall and Port Vale scheduled for January 16 has been pushed back by 24 hours.

Milwall's progression into the Football League Trophy Southern Area final, secured by beating Southend United 2-0 on Tuesday night, has forced the fixture to be rearranged.

It is the third time this week that Port Vale's schedule has been altered, having seen their 2016 encounter with Blackpool brought forward to January 9, while the game against Doncaster Rovers initially pencilled in for next month has been moved forward by a fortnight.

The Valiants sit one point behind Millwall in 11th place.
