How Manchester United could line up with Kai Havertz

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up next season if they sign Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.

Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.

The Germany international has been in fine form for his Bundesliga club during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 15 times and registering eight assists in 38 appearances.

Havertz has netted six times in his last five league outings, meanwhile, and the speculation surrounding his future has gathered pace over the last week or so.

The 20-year-old is allegedly open to moving to Old Trafford this summer, although Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest.

The signing of the versatile attacker would certainly capture the imagination of the United fans, and with that in mind, Sports Mole takes a look at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could line up next season if they manage to secure the German's signature.

It would be some summer for United if they managed to sign both Havertz from Leverkusen and Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Sancho continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, and it has been claimed that Solskjaer's team could attempt to lower the Englishman's price by including at least one player as a makeweight.

The former Manchester City youngster would almost certainly line up on the right if he arrived at Old Trafford, while Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have both become extremely important players for the club.

The same can be said for Bruno Fernandes since arriving in January, while it appears increasingly likely that Paul Pogba will remain at United due to the finances needed to sign him.

Havertz is currently playing as a striker for Leverkusen and enjoying great success in the process, which is likely to make him even more attractive for any potential suitors this summer.

The youngster has also played off the right this season, but the bulk of his appearances have come as a number 10. In a 4-2-3-1 formation, the position behind Martial could be available for the German, who also showed his class last season with 20 goals in all competitions.

United's defensive unit is unlikely to change next season as they have improved considerably in that area of the field in recent months, meaning that the club are likely to target forward players this summer.

Havertz has quickly developed into one of the most sought after players in world football, and the Red Devils would have an attack to be envied across the globe if they secured his services.
