Manchester United allegedly ended their interest in Paulo Dybala due to fears of not getting a return for their investment, like with Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester United reportedly moved away from signing Juventus forward Paulo Dybala as a result of concerns over whether they would get a return for their investment.

The Premier League giants were said to be ready to bring in the Argentina international until issues arose regarding the player's wage demands and image rights.

According to The Athletic, fears emerged that Dybala could mark a repeat of what United have endured with Alexis Sanchez, who is the highest earner at Old Trafford.

As a result of no club being prepared to match his weekly income, United have agreed to pay at least half of his wages in order for Inter Milan to sign the Chilean on a season-long loan deal.

During negotiations for Dybala, Sanchez had appeared destined to stay with United, allegedly leading to chief executive Ed Woodward moving to avoid another situation where the English side were arguably taking too much of a financial hit.

Dybala now appears likely to remain in Turin for at least the first half of the campaign.
