Tottenham Hotspur reportedly identify Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland as their number one target should Harry Kane leave the club this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland as their top target to replace Harry Kane should the England skipper leave the club this summer.

Kane has been increasingly tipped to seek an exit from Spurs in search of silverware, with speculation over his future intensifying this season due to Tottenham's poor performances in the Premier League, Champions League and domestic cup competitions.

Real Madrid and Manchester United have both been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, who scored 17 goals in 25 appearances this season before suffering an injury in January.

Eurosport reports that Tottenham have begun drafting a list of possible replacements for their star man, and that Dortmund's Haaland is at the top of that list.

The Spurs hierarchy deem Haaland to be the striker with traits most similar to Kane and have been impressed with his ability to perform at the highest level, scoring 10 goals in just eight Champions League games this season and 12 in 11 across all competitions since joining Dortmund in January.

Tottenham's preference is to keep hold of Kane, but they also recognise that they could raise as much as £150m from selling him whereas Haaland has a comparatively low release clause of €75m (£68.5m).

However, Spurs are likely to face stiff competition for the 19-year-old's signature, with Man United and Real Madrid also among the clubs interested in the youngster.
