Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is reportedly struggling to find a new club, despite his future appearing to be away from Old Trafford.

Manchester United have reportedly indicated that they are not prepared to sell Wayne Rooney in a cut-price deal.

It has been widely reported that United are happy to part ways with their captain after he only played a bit-part role during Jose Mourinho's first season in charge.

The player has been linked with potential moves to either Everton or China but according to The Mirror, he is yet to receive a suitable offer.

Everton have pressed on with their own transfer business and appear unwilling to meet Rooney's demands, while a switch to China is now on the backburner due to the introduction of new tax regulations involving foreign signings.

With United not keen on selling Rooney below his valuation or contributing to his wages at another club, it leaves both parties with decisions to make going forward.

Last term, the 31-year-old made just 25 starts in United's exhausting campaign which saw them win both the EFL Cup and the Europa League.
