A report claims that peace talks between Inter Milan and Mauro Icardi are ongoing and there is hope of an amicable agreement being reached between the two parties.

Inter Milan are reportedly optimistic about Mauro Icardi's future and hope to have the striker back available for selection next week.

The Argentina international has been out of action for the past month with a knee injury, coinciding with the club stripping him of the captaincy.

Icardi has been given the all-clear to return to training with Inter, but he informed manager Luciano Spalletti that he is not yet ready to make his comeback.

Juventus, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United are all believed to be keeping a close eye on Icardi's contract situation, but Calciomercato claims that there is hope of an amicable agreement being reached between the player and club.

A number of meetings are said to have been held, most recently on Friday afternoon, and if all goes well the 26-year-old may be back in action for next Thursday's Europa League last-16 second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt.
