Paul Pogba is allegedly set to make a dramatic U-turn and commit his future to Manchester United, despite being expected to leave in recent weeks.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could reportedly be set to sign a new contract at the Red Devils amid widespread speculation regarding his future.

The 26-year-old has been sidelined with an ankle injury since December, making only seven top-flight appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season as they sit fifth in the Premier League table.

Speculation has been rife regarding the Frenchman's future in recent weeks, but according to the Daily Mail, Pogba is open to extending his current contract with the 20-time English champions, which is set to expire in 2021.

The report also claims that United's standing at the end of the season could have a significant impact on whether or not he signs a new deal, but the midfielder is reportedly keen to line up alongside new signing Bruno Fernandes.

There have been concerns that Fernandes's arrival and impressive form would have made it difficult for Pogba to come back into the team when fully fit again, however the France World Cup winner allegedly believes that he would form an exciting partnership with the Portugal international.

Pogba has scored 31 goals in 143 appearances for United since rejoining from Juventus in 2016.
