Sporting Lisbon centre-forward Islam Slimani is reportedly being tracked by Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

Manchester United have reportedly entered the race to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.

It is believed that United boss Louis van Gaal has sent scouts to watch the 27-year-old in action for the last two months.

His performances have captured the attention of both West Ham United and Leicester City, but United have also been impressed and they could launch a £12m bid this month, according to The Sun.

The Algeria international has found the net 13 times from his 16 league appearances this term.

Slimani joined Sporting from CR Belouizdad in the summer of 2013.
