Manchester United are reportedly keen to bring in a new striker on a short-term deal before the end of the January transfer window.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly set his sights on signing a new striker on a short-term deal.

As a result of Marcus Rashford suffering a double stress fracture in his back, only Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood remain as Solskjaer's frontline options in attack.

Despite being linked with Edinson Cavani, United are allegedly against a move for the Paris Saint-Germain forward due to his age.

However, The Mirror claims that Solskjaer wants to add a fresh face in the final third, preferably on a temporary basis.

The report suggests that Borussia Dortmund's Paco Alcacer, AC Milan's Krzysztof Piatek and Real Madrid's Luka Jovic are all possibilities for the Premier League giants.

The trio could all be allowed to go out on loan by their respective clubs over the next 10 days.
