Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is reportedly considering his future at the Bernabeu, with Manchester United said to be monitoring the situation.

Manchester United have expressed an interest in making a bid for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, according to reports.

The 23-year-old, who made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants last season, is said to be considering his future after manager Zinedine Zidane settled on a centre-back pairing of Sergio Ramos and Pepe.

According to Marca, Zidane has told Varane that he will play a more prominent role at the Bernabeu next season but the Frenchman is still weighing up whether to continue in the Spanish capital.

Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho signed Varane from French club Lens during his time in charge at Real and is keen on reuniting with the highly-rated defender at Old Trafford.
