Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is expected to sign a new long-term contract at the club in the coming days.

Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal with the club.

The 18-year-old broke into the first team at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal last season, but has struggled to maintain his progress since Jose Mourinho's arrival at the club.

Indeed, Fosu-Mensah is yet to feature in the Premier League so far this term, being limited to action in the EFL Cup and Europa League.

However, the youngster is reportedly just days away from putting pen to paper on a new four-year deal that would see him earn £25,000 a week.

United currently sit sixth in the Premier League table ahead of Monday night's match against fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
