Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea says that his focus is on "winning games", and not "contracts or any topics".

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has said that his focus is on "winning games", and not "contracts or any topics that can be a distraction".

De Gea's current deal with United will expire at the end of this season, and despite the Red Devils having the option of a 12-month extension, there remains huge uncertainty surrounding the Spaniard's future.

The 27-year-old is believed to be weighing up his future at Old Trafford, with United currently struggling to challenge for the major trophies.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly fearful of losing the Spaniard on a free transfer to Juventus, and the United boss has conceded that he is "not confident" when it comes to the stopper's future.

De Gea is not currently interested in the talk surrounding his future, however, as he focuses on helping United return to winning ways in the Premier League against Everton.

"What matters is the team and all of us being focused on what we need to focus on, which is winning games, rather than contracts or any topics that can be a distraction. What matters is focusing on football," De Gea told Sky Sports News.

"We have an important game against Everton and we have some big fixtures over the coming months. I think that's what matters, rather than thinking about anything else.

"I've been here for many seasons, as we've said. I've been at the club for eight seasons now. I'm very happy here. I always feel that warmth from the fans and everyone who works at the club."

De Gea has made 327 appearances in all competitions for United since a 2011 move from Atletico Madrid.
