Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho says that he is "happy" in Spain and has no intention of leaving, amid ongoing links with a Premier League return.

Philippe Coutinho has said that 'returning to England does not fit into his plans' and has ruled out an end-of-season exit from Barcelona.

The Brazil international has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months, despite only being in his first full season as a Barca player.

Coutinho's time at Camp Nou has not gone entirely to plan so far, having been in and out of the side when Ernesto Valverde has had a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Amid reports that Barcelona are ready to take a big hit on Coutinho, though, the ex-Liverpool playmaker has insisted that he does not intend to leave anytime soon.

"This is my second season here. I have won titles but I am always an ambitious and demanding player," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"So, I want more and more. But I'm happy. I wanted to play in Spain and I'm at the best club in Spain. My head is exclusively in Barcelona. Returning to England now does not fit into my plans."

Coutinho, who signed for Barcelona in a £142m deal 15 months ago, has started 19 La Liga games for Barca this term.
