Mark Bosnich confident Manchester United will have money to spend this summer

Mark Bosnich is confident that former club Manchester United will be able to spend in the transfer market this summer despite the impact of the coronavirus shutdown.

Mark Bosnich has claimed that his former club Manchester United will still have money to spend when the transfer market reopens, despite the impact of coronavirus.

The global pandemic has forced sport to be halted in almost all areas of the world, and that has had a huge knock-on effect on the finances of football clubs big and small.

The summer transfer window is expected to be quiet as a result, with former Liverpool chief Damien Comolli warning that only a handful of clubs could be able to spend, but Bosnich is confident that United's plans will not be hit too badly.

"We've got to be aware of the situation with what's going on in terms of prices and money to spend. But I do believe that, regardless of the COVID-19 situation, Manchester United, as always, will be a club that have the money and the funds ready to spend," Bosnich told Sky Sports News.

"Regardless of whether you spend £90m on a player or £9m on a player, it is still a little bit of a gamble. But they will definitely be in a position to do that, as they always have been. They were on a tremendous run before this break and [they need] only a couple more players, in my opinion, for the starting XI.

"He may need to strengthen the squad depending on who leaves during the next transfer period, whenever that may be. But with a couple more really top class starters, I think that will ensure Manchester United will be challenging for the title, sooner rather than later."

United have been heavily linked with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane and Jack Grealish when the transfer window reopens.
