A report claims that Eric Bailly has been reassured he still has a big part to play at Manchester United, despite starting just one Premier League game in 2019.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly held talks with Eric Bailly to reassure the centre-back that he still has a big part to play at Manchester United.

The Ivorian defender has started just one Premier League game under Solskjaer since being dismissed in the 4-1 win over Bournemouth on December 30.

Bailly has made a total of 69 appearances for United since arriving from Villarreal in 2016, but he is now struggling to hold down a spot in the side.

According to The Sun, however, Solskjaer has told the 24-year-old that he is in contention to start in big matches between now and the end of the season, with games against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Chelsea to come this month alone.

The report indicates that Bailly could start the Champions League showdown with PSG next week, having been recalled to the side that beat Leicester City 1-0 at the weekend.

Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are Solskjaer's other options at the back.
