Young: 'We want to win every competition'

Makeshift full-back Ashley Young insists that Manchester United will "go at it on all fronts" this season as they bid to add four more trophies to their collection.

Ashley Young has insisted that Manchester United are not prioritising any competition this season as they want to win the quadruple.

The Red Devils have made an impressive start to their second campaign under Jose Mourinho, winning eight and drawing one of their nine fixtures so far.

United find themselves second in the Premier League on goal difference, top of their group in the Champions League and into the last 16 of the EFL Cup, while also being backed as early favourites to win the FA Cup.

Mourinho prioritised the Europa League in the latter stages of 2016-17, but Young claims that he and his teammates want to get their hands on multiple major honours this term.

"Everyone wants to win every competition we are in," he told reporters. "There's not a competition that we are going to prioritise. We want to go at it on all fronts, whether that be in Europe or domestically.

"We were delighted to win what we did last season but if we can add the Premier League, the League Cup again or the FA Cup, or Champions League then, of course, you play in these big competitions to go and win them. That is exactly what we are looking to do and I think we've got the squad to do it."

Young, who captained United during their 4-1 win over CSKA Moscow in midweek, has just eight months left to run on his current deal.
