Manchester United reportedly decide that they are prepared to pay the release clause of Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Manchester United have reportedly decided that they are willing to pay the release clause of Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

United announced on Tuesday morning that they had decided to part ways with Jose Mourinho due to the club being off the pace in the Premier League standings.

A short-term appointment will be made in the near future with Laurent Blanc and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the favourites for the position, but it appears that United remain keen on securing the services of Pochettino.

According to The Sun, the club's hierarchy have already decided that they are willing to pay £40m in order to bring the Argentine to Old Trafford ahead of next season.

Pochettino only recently signed a new long-term contract with Spurs, but United are ready to give the 46-year-old the chance to make the switch to one of Spurs' top-flight rivals.
