Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to build his new-look team around Scott McTominay, according to a report.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly wants to build his new-look team around Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay.

Sunday's 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town - where McTominay was on the scoresheet - means that United will finish outside of the top four in the Premier League this season.

The 20-time English champions are expected to spend heavily in this summer's transfer window, while a number of players - including Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku - are set to be moved on.

According to The Mirror, Solskjaer views McTominay as the perfect individual to build his team around, with the 22-year-old outshining a number of his teammates in recent weeks.

The midfielder, who has a contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2023, has scored twice in 21 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2018-19 campaign.
