Manchester United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praises Marcus Rashford following the striker's excellent performance against Bournemouth.

Manchester United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lavished praise on Marcus Rashford following the striker's excellent performance against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Rashford set up Paul Pogba for the opening goal of the match, before putting his own name on the scoresheet with United's third in their 4-1 win over the Cherries.

The England international has now scored four times in his last six appearances in all competitions, including two in the three Premier League matches since Solskjaer took the position.

"Marcus has been class since I've come," Solskjaer told Sky Sports News. "He's scored two now in three games. His work rate is unbelievable. He closes down, chases, runs in behind, and the skill for the first goal was brilliant.

"[For the first goal] he holds the ball up, he hasn't got a right really to go past the second [defender, Diego Rico]. He's got all the chances in the world, the potential of becoming a top striker."

United have closed the gap on fifth-placed Arsenal in the Premier League table to just three points ahead of their trip to Newcastle United next week.
