Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has insisted that his team can be pleased with their 2017-18 season if they win the FA Cup next weekend.

United secured second spot in the Premier League table with a goalless draw at West Ham United on Thursday night.

Smalling said that it was "job done" for the Red Devils as they claimed the point they needed for the runners-up spot behind Manchester City, and the centre-back has now switched his attention to the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

"It's job done, we knew that second place was ours for the taking," Smalling told Sky Sports News.

"We have played three at the back a few times this season and we can play both formations. It's good to have up our sleeve. If you finish second and win a trophy it will leave us with a good feeling."

United will finish their 2017-18 Premier League campaign at home to Watford on Sunday afternoon.
