Phil Jones reveals that he is desperate to land a new contract at Manchester United, with his current deal due to expire this summer.

Phil Jones has revealed that he is desperate to land a new contract at Manchester United.

Jones, 26, will see his current deal with the Red Devils expire at the end of the season, and there has been speculation surrounding the centre-back's future over the last 12 months.

The England international has been a regular since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as head coach of United in December, however, featuring in each of the team's last seven Premier League matches.

Jones has played more than 200 times for the Red Devils since arriving from Blackburn Rovers, and the centre-back has urged the club to open contract talks.

"I'm very settled - I've been settled for a long time here," Jones told Sky Sports News. "Ever since I walked through the door I was made to feel very welcome. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time - it's been great and long may it continue.

"Of course I do [want to stay] - it's Man United. This club has been part of my life for many years now. I love the club, the fans, the players. We'll see what happens. It's not down to me what happens."

United will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
