Nemanja Matic says that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been improving all the time throughout his tenure as Manchester United manager.

Nemanja Matic has said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been improving all the time throughout his tenure as Manchester United manager.

The Norwegian initially took over at Old Trafford on a temporary basis 14 months ago following the departure of Jose Mourinho, with an excellent start leading to him being given the job full-time.

Despite a recent good run, which has seen United go seven unbeaten and beat Club Brugge 5-0 in their most recent game to book their place in the last 16 of the Europa League, the former Cardiff City boss continues to be linked with the exit door, as Massimiliano Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino remain available.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Matic said: "Every day he is improving, getting more experience. For sure he will be better and better.

"Like every manager - Carlo Ancelotti, now and 20 years ago he is not the same. He knows more, he gets more experience, so it will be the same with Ole. He is a much better manager than one year ago, in my opinion.

"Now he knows all of the players, he knows exactly what he needs to do before the game, after the game. For his job, the experience is very important."

Matic, who has scored four goals in 107 appearances since joining the Red Devils in July 2017, is out of contract in the summer.
