Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince says that Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku "are not good enough" to warrant a place in the Red Devils' starting lineup.

Paul Ince has backed Jose Mourinho's decision to drop both Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku for Manchester United's midweek meeting with Arsenal.

The pair were high-profile omissions from the Red Devils' starting lineup for the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford after failing to impress in recent weeks.

Pogba's absence was the latest twist in an ongoing feud between the World Cup winner and under-fire boss Mourinho, but former United midfielder Ince is siding with the Portuguese as he feels that the player is "not good enough".

"It feels like every time I speak about Man United, it's about Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku. I'm getting bored of them both," he told Paddy Power News.

"Against Arsenal, the game was quite exciting and fun - which is rare for United at the minute - until those two came on the pitch. It wasn't necessarily top-class football on display, but it was enjoyable, and that's all the fans wanted.

"The big decision for Jose Mourinho now is whether he keeps the same side for the Fulham game. He keeps chopping and changing it, and I can see why. He did the right thing in dropping Pogba and Lukaku, they don't seem remotely interested, and they're just not good enough."

Pogba may reportedly be offered a route out of Man United by former club Juventus in January.
