Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler urges Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to educate himself on and learn from Graeme Souness's quality as a player.

Robbie Fowler has weighed in on the war of words between Graeme Souness and Paul Pogba by telling the Manchester United midfielder to educate himself on the Liverpool legend's quality.

Souness has been a regular and vocal critic of Pogba in recent years, eventually prompting Pogba to hit back earlier this month by claiming that he "didn't know" who the former Scotland international is.

Souness responded by challenging Pogba to "put your medals on the table", and Fowler has insisted that the Frenchman could learn from the performances of a man who won five league titles and three European Cups, among other trophies, at Liverpool.

"If anyone is qualified to talk about Paul Pogba and what the Frenchman needs to do to become a better player, then it's Souey. And my advice to Paul would be to listen to what he's got to say and then ask yourself if he's got a point. You might just end up becoming better for it," he told The Mirror.

"I was disappointed to hear the Manchester United midfielder slap down my former Liverpool boss by saying he doesn't even know who the outspoken Scottish guy in the studio is. If he doesn't then perhaps he should do a bit of background. He'd discover that this is a man who won five league titles and three European Cups with Liverpool.

"If Paul fancies seeing the complete midfield performance during the lockdown then he might take a look on YouTube at how Graeme captained Liverpool in the 1984 European Cup final against Roma in the Italian club's very own Olympic Stadium."

While Pogba has won the World Cup with France and lifted four successive Serie A titles at Juventus, he is still some way behind Souness when it comes to overall trophies won.
