Fabio and Rafael da Silva ready to go head-to-head in Ligue 1

The brothers played together at Manchester United but are now in opposite camps.

Nantes defender Fabio da Silva is relishing the prospect of going head-to-head with his twin brother Rafael on Saturday.

The two men played together for Manchester United in the Premier League, but will be in opposite camps when Lyon entertain Nantes in Ligue 1 this weekend.

Fabio, in a series of Twitter posts on his club’s official account, said: “This will be the first time I play against my twin brother @orafa2.

“It was my dream to play with him – that was the case – and it will be nice to play against him too.”

Fabio is yet to make a competitive appearance for the club he joined from Middlesbrough during the summer but insists he is raring to go after an injury-hit 2017/18 campaign.

He said: “I feel good. I’ve played several training matches, I’m ready.

“I have prepared myself very hard, I have been well-surrounded, I have no worries for the future. I am confident and I now feel 100 per cent ready.”
