Wednesday's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup: Hakan Calhanoglu, Samuel Chukwueze, Kai Havertz

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Wednesday, November 4.

A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Manchester United have reportedly ruled out a move for AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are thought to have been tracking the Turkey international with a view to making an offer at the turn of the year.

Calhanoglu is out of contract at San Siro next summer and Milan are keen to cash in before he is allowed to leave for free.

According to The Athletic, United were offered the chance to sign the 26-year-old but have now rejected the chance to do so.

The publication claims that Calhanoglu's agent called United's chief transfer negotiator Matt Judge to discuss a move, but the Premier League side have decided not to pursue the matter.

United already have a number of attacking players on their books, but they have fired blanks in two of their last three games, albeit either side of a 5-0 win against RB Leipzig.

Calhanoglu has started five of Serie A table-toppers Milan's first six matches this season, though he has been directly involved in just one goal.

Report: Manchester United join race for Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze

Manchester United are reportedly closely monitoring Samuel Chukwueze with an eye on making a move for the Villarreal winger.

The Nigeria international has a combined 12 goals and assists in the past two La Liga campaigns, while his 143 dribbles attempted since the start of last season is bettered by only five players in the division.

According to 90min, the 21-year-old is already on the radar of multiple Premier League sides, with Leicester City, Everton and now Man Utd all interested.

Chukwueze, who ended a 12-month goal drought with his strike in Villarreal's 2-0 win over Real Valladolid on Monday, is believed to have a release clause in excess of £80m in his contract.

Chelsea had previously been tipped to move for the Villarreal academy player before bringing in Kai Havertz in the summer.
