Sunday's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup: Paul Pogba, Erling Braut Haaland

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Sunday, December 13.

A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Sunday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester City 'want to sign Erling Braut Haaland next summer'

Manchester City are reportedly keen to bring Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland to the Etihad Stadium during next summer's transfer window.

The 20-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United before leaving Red Bull Salzburg for Dortmund, where he has managed 33 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Haaland is currently on the sidelines through injury but has again been in excellent scoring form this season, netting 17 times in 14 outings in all competitions at club level.

A number of teams, including United and Real Madrid, are thought to be keen on the Norway international, but according to Bild, City want to sign him ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

A release clause in Haaland's contract - thought to be in the region of £68m - will not be valid until the summer of 2022, though, placing BVB in a strong position when it comes to the striker's immediate future.

Sergio Aguero's contract with the Citizens is due to expire next June, and the Argentina international could leave on a free transfer in search of pastures new.

Paul Pogba: 'I will continue to fight for Manchester United'

Paul Pogba has insisted that he "will always fight" for Manchester United and has branded the speculation surrounding his future "not important".

The 27-year-old's agent Mino Raiola recently claimed that his client's time at Old Trafford is "over" and urged the 20-time English champions to sell the France international in the next transfer window.

Pogba was named on the bench for the Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on Tuesday night but was back in the starting XI against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday and helped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side pick up a point in the Manchester derby.

After the goalless draw, Pogba took to Instagram to address his future at United and has insisted that he will be committed to the cause for as long as he remains at the club.

Pogba is allegedly wanted by former club Juventus during the January transfer window, but the World Cup winner has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2022, and United are not thought to be prepared to reduce their asking price despite Raiola's recent comments.
