Manchester United continued their preparations for the new season by beating the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 at the Avaya Stadium.
Louis van Gaal's side were on top for long spells of the first half and built a comfortable lead with goals from Juan Mata and Memphis Depay before Fatai Alashe pulled one back before the interval.
However, there was no way back for San Jose as Andreas Pereira, one of 10 changes at the break for United, headed home from close range to secure his side's second win in the International Champions Cup.

"Of course I think that we are at a higher level than San Jose Earthquakes but they are fit and they have played many matches," said van Gaal in his press conference. "We are not fit yet."

"Also the difference between San Jose and Club America is 20 centimetres. Every player is 20 centimetres taller. The corner kicks and the free-kicks are much more dangerous from San Jose Earthquakes than Club America. There are a lot of differences and the playing style is different."
