Derby County announce that James Wilson has returned to parent club Manchester United after suffering a knee injury in training.

Derby County have announced that James Wilson has returned to parent club Manchester United to undergo treatment on a knee injury.

The 20-year-old signed for the Rams in August on a season-long loan after spending the previous campaign on a temporary spell at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wilson's time at Derby has been cut short after he suffered an injury in training on Monday, and while there has been no timeline on his recovery as yet, the problem has forced the striker back to Old Trafford.

Wilson has made four appearances for Derby and scored in the team's 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers in the Checkatrade Trophy earlier this month.
