Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea says that this season can be described as "good" if they win the FA Cup final.

David de Gea has claimed that Manchester United can describe this season as "good" if they beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.

Louis van Gaal's side struggled in the Premier League as they failed to finish in the top four, eventually settling for fifth place and a spot in next season's Europa League.

For De Gea, it has been a positive season as he was named the club's Player of the Year for a third season in a row.

"It's been the best season of my career," Goal.com quotes him as saying. "I'm in great shape physically and mentally I'm very focused.

"If we win the FA Cup it will be a good season. We are all really keen to win such an important trophy for this club, our supporters and ourselves. We will fight to the end and do everything we can to win it."

De Gea came close to leaving United last summer, but his proposed move to Real Madrid fell through at the last minute because the relevant paperwork was not completed by the deadline.
