How Manchester United could line up against Club Brugge

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up for the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie with Club Brugge in Belgium.

Manchester United return to Europa League action on Thursday with a trip to Club Brugge in the first leg of their last-32 tie.

The Red Devils fielded 32 different players in the group stage - more than any other side - but still made serene progression into the knockout rounds.

Now the real business begins for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, who head to Jan Breydel Stadium on a four-match unbeaten streak in all competitions.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how United may line up for the meeting with Brugge.

Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford remain absent for United, but Solskjaer could welcome back one or both of Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe from injury.

Victor Lindelof missed the win over Chelsea through illness and Eric Bailly is lacking fitness after a lengthy layoff, so Phil Jones is in contention to start at centre-back.

Solskjaer handed Odion Ighalo his United debut from the bench late on at Stamford Bridge on Monday and the Nigerian striker is expected to lead the line in Belgium.

Should the visitors opt to rotate between league fixtures, the likes of Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata, Diogo Dalot and Andreas Pereira could receive some minutes.
