How Young Boys could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at how Swiss side Young Boys could line up for their Champions League debut against Manchester United.

It will be a historic occasion when Young Boys welcome Manchester United to the Stade de Suisse on Wednesday night as they compete in the Champions League proper for the first time ever.

The Swiss champions finally made it through the qualifying stages at the sixth time of asking, and they have been rewarded with a star-studded group which also includes Juventus and Valencia.

Hopes of going any further in the competition may be slim, but they will also be relishing the chance to upset the odds as a relatively unknown quantity in this season's tournament.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how manager Gerardo Seoane could set his side up against United.

Possible YB XI vs. MNU
Out: Jordan Lotomba (knee), Sandro Lauper (ankle)
Doubt: Miralem Sulejmani (concussion)

Young Boys had the luxury of resting a number of players during Saturday's cup win over second-tier side FC Schaffhausen, although those who did play went the full 120 minutes as the Swiss champions scraped a 3-2 win in the last minute of extra time.

Former Serbia international Sulejmani came off the bench on the hour mark and scored within nine minutes of his introduction in that match, and he now looks set to start for the first time since suffering concussion.

Midfielders Lotomba and Lauper remain sidelined with knee and ankle problems respectively, but Young Boys do have the likes of David von Ballmoos, Gregory Wuthrich and former Newcastle United player Kevin Mbabu to welcome back into the side.

Guillaume Hoarau - formerly of Paris Saint-Germain - is likely to be the hosts' main attacking threat, having scored four league goals in six appearances so far this season.
