A report claims that Manchester City have told Sevilla to pay £10m to sign Nolito on a permanent deal, rather than taking him on loan for a year as they wished.

Manchester City have reportedly denied Nolito the chance to join Sevilla on loan as they instead want him off their books permanently.

The 30-year-old has expressed his desire to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer after struggling for playing time under boss Pep Guardiola, failing to make a Premier League start in the second half of last season.

Sevilla were the favourites to sign Nolito, with president Jose Castro confirming earlier this week that talks are at an advanced stage, but the Daily Mail reports that a move could now be in doubt.

A season-long loan move had been mooted by the Spanish club ahead of a £7m purchase in 12 months, but City are said to be holding out for £10m up front for the attacker.

Nolito turned down an approach from Barcelona to join the Citizens last summer, making 28 appearances in all competitions during his maiden campaign in English football.
