A report claims that Manchester City are ahead of Bayern Munich and Juventus in the race to sign Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus.

Manchester City have reportedly moved ahead of Bayern Munich and Juventus in the race to sign Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus.

Earlier this month, Gabriel's agent Christian Simoes revealed that the German and Italian champions were interested in signing the 19-year-old, who has scored 13 goals in 23 appearances for his Brazilian club this season.

However, according to The Times, Man City are now in pole position to sign the teenager after launching a £16.7m bid, which is currently more than either Bayern or Juve are prepared to offer.

According to Simoes, Juve "have scouted Gabriel", while Bayern "have taken steps" to register their interest in a player that has also scored three times in four appearances for Brazil's Under-23 team.
