Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reveals that he will look to add one or two new players to his title-winning squad this summer.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that he will not make any more than two new signings this summer.

City have established themselves as one of the best Premier League teams of all time this season, clinching the title with five games to spare and sitting on the brink of the records for most points, most goals and most wins in a single campaign.

However, Guardiola has insisted that there is still room for improvement and, while he will not be bringing in a host of new faces, he confirmed that he will be looking to add to his squad.

"Don't worry, we are going to spend a lot of money next season - maybe £1bn or something like that. It's the same question with Chelsea four years ago, when they were not good the next season. Next season everyone starts with zero points. We don't play with 16 points more," Guardiola is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.

"We need something. We need to touch something in the team. Maybe one. Maybe two. No more than that, for next year. Football is not a finished business. We need to be more clinical. The last five or 10 minutes of the first half [against West Ham] was not good. At 4-1 we weren't hungry enough to score another one. Individual mistakes, our full-backs not controlling the players inside. There are many aspects we can improve.

"If it was perfect, I would not be here next season. I would be done. The level of consistency was high this season, yes. Our strikers have an average age of 22. For 20 guys in our squad, this will be the first time they've won the Premier League. We are a young team in terms of many circumstances.

"That's why it's good. The target next season is to keep this consistency, the discipline. The recent Premier League, champions were were not able to do that. That is the challenge. To think we would just be happy to lift the title makes no sense. I'm happy next Sunday to receive the title of the Premier League and the chance to be the best team in the history of England. Of course we are going to try to do it."

Napoli midfielder Jorginho has been linked with Man City, while Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is also thought to be on Guardiola's radar.
